Iregi local church was started in the year 2003. It was started by Fr. Peter Ngochi. It is located in Maragua-Mugoiri road. It is approximately 4 kms and located on a one acre of land.
The first chairman of this local church was Daniel kariuki. This local church has three small Christian communities namely:

• St.John
• St. Margret
• St. Pious.

The Christians in this local church are approximately 100. The church is under final phase on its construction, awaiting its official opening by the Bishop.
