St. Patrick's Local Church

church event When Rev. Fr. Peter Ngochi was at Maragua as the Fr. In charge, the Christians of St. George and Patrick small Christian community of Maragua local church proposed to fr. Peter to have their own place of worshipping. The late Dedan Patrick chege being one of the Christians said he is willing to donate an acre of his land to the church. He sub divided his land and transferred the plot to the church. The church did not contributed any money towards this transfer.
The Christians of these two small Christians community started meeting on this plot for prayers every first Wednesday of the month. They used to contribute money for building their church.
The Christians were eager to build a structure on this plot where they can be meeting for prayers and Sunday Masses. On 1st January 2016 we celebrated the first Mass and the blessing of the plot.
The Christians choose the name St. Patrick in memory of the late Dedan Patrick chege who donated the land. We have plans for building a permanent church and preparations are underway. St. Patrick have 2 small Christians communities i.e. St. Georg and St. Stephen. St. Stephen was formally st. Patrick but since the church was given this name hence the need for this scc to choose another name.
